L.A.

Inspired by the sunshine, modernist architecture, and West Hollywood I decided to put together this Photo shoot. My dear friend Sarah Maxwell is one of the most talented makeup artists out here.  While walking around her neighbourhood the other day I found these amazing little houses. Each  with it’s own character and charm reminiscent of the  1930′s, 40′s and 50′s. One house that really struck me was this dark but interesting home that I later realized was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright…. wow I love LA.

This is just a sneak peak, we’re off to Palm Springs tomorrow for some fun in the desert…

Tutti Matti with Alida Solomon

Wade and I went to do some shots of Tutti Matti yesterday for King West magazine. We arrived just as the head chef and owner Alida Solomon and her kitchen staff were eating their lunch – and it looked as good as you’d expect when a bunch of top cooks get together to create a meal for each other. While we were shooting Alida cooked us an amazing tagliatelle con cinghiale, which is a hand cut pasta with wild boar stew and porcini mushrooms. After that it’s going to be tough to go back to the simple spagetti and meatballs, so I’m definitly going to be back for more!

Bucca Restaurant with Chef Rob Gentile

Man, the first time I walked into this space I was floored by the incredible light fixture that greets you when you first enter. The space is raw, industrial, and refined. My expectations were set high for the menu, and Chef Rob Gentile really delivers. This time I had to go by the restaurant to shoot an editorial piece for a Magazine article. It was great to really take in the space during the day, the light is really just magical , even though it’s mostly below ground, you have these super high ceilings and windows above that allow the light to trickle in just right. I hope you enjoy the photos..If you’re in downtown Toronto , Bucca is a must.
